Chapter 27: Twice the Better

Zarak is worshipping peacefully when the king brings ZR before him to account for his crimes. His crimes that he has no knowledge of, but was filmed doing. Not to worry, Theophilus instantly clears up the confusion by informing ZR and the king that there is a ZR clone out and about running amok. It's apparently super illegal to clone anyone and this is a problem. (Why didn't Theo tell anyone about the clone before?) A guard instantly brings the clone into the room in custody at the kings request. Also of note, this guard "straitened" himself, which means "To put or bring into difficulties or distress, especially financial hardship." So I suppose he brought the clone in, and instantly took out a predatory loan that he could not possibly pay back.
The clone is questioned, and it is revealed that he murdered these men because they were plotting an assassination of the king. Barar is brought in for questioning because he is the scientist so he must have done the cloning. Barar admits he cloned him but says he did it for the good of Plenarius. Theo accuses him of lying and hiding something at which point Barar acts like a hysterical villain and is removed. The clone is allowed to live, named Emit, and commanded to shave his head.
Barar was tried the next day and refused to speak on his behalf. He was executed for his cloning crimes. They also captured the other people planning the assassination.
Then ZR trained Emit and then Emit was adopted.

On another note, I don't think "Twice the better" is a phrase? Not sure on that one.
